The team’s positive attitude in training will help them do well at the upcoming 26th Africa Men Handball Nations Cup, according to Obina Anih, captain of the Nigeria Men Handball National Team.
The Golden Arrows consisting of twenty-eight players have been camping in Abuja for several weeks in preparation for the African Men’s Handball Cup of Nations which will take place in Egypt from January 19 to 29, 2024.
Recently, foreign-based players have joined the camp.
Playing for GKR Tikves 2014 Handball Club of North Macedonia, Obina Anih is looking forward to working with the team’s youthful group of players and helping them have a successful nations cup experience.
“I think this young, new team is amazing,” Obinna Annih said to HFN Media.
“I have no doubt that we will perform well at the Nations Cup given the manner we are prepared. Everyone is in line with the strategy, and everything is proceeding as planned. The level of preparedness thus far is astounding,” Annih remarked.
Annih added that the Golden Arrows will triumph because he has high expectations for both the team and himself and that the Samuel Ocheho-led Handball Federation of Nigeria board will support them.
Nigeria will be participating in its 15th Nations Cup, they were fourth in their best competition in 1998 when it was held in South Africa.
