NWFL: “We Won’t Lose To Adamawa Queens”- Marvellous Duru Confident Of Victory Against Former Side

Marvellous Duru

Heartland Queens diminutive attacking midfielder, Marvellous Duru has assured that her side will not lose to the hosts, Adamawa Queens.

The Owerri mainstreams will be the guests of the Yola-based topflights in Wednesday’s NWFL Premiership matchday 7 clash at their adopted ground, Pantami Stadium in Gombe.

The petite midfielder who relishes the matchup against former side said the Owerri landladies have the whole qualities to unnerved their hosts for the three points at stake.

“When I saw the group that pitched us together with my former team, I said wow, I am going back home because when I was at Adamawa Queens it was like a home to me. I served them very well and they treated me well, too but now I am in Heartland Queens so I am going to play against my former team, Adamawa Queens”.

“I will like to show them that as I was important in the team then I am now twice more important in Heartland Queens”.

“I will try my possible best to make sure that Heartland Queens win the match or worst case scenario, we pick an away point but they will never beat or defeat us,”Marvellous Duru asured.

“I believe this present Heartland Queens are better side than my former team. We have the qualities to win the match or at worst, we pick up a point,” said the former Adamawa Queens playmaker to the club’s media.

The soft-spoken speedster is somehow undecided over what her reactions will be if she goes ahead to net goal or goals against the former side.

“I even want to score against my former team and I believe I will score because it is a good thing for every player to score against his/her former side.

“However, if I score against Adamawa Queens I will not engage in any form of wide jubilations because the coach Vandi Jacob is like a father to me, I will not want to see him in pain but now it’s all about Heartland Queens.

“Having said that, I will be deeply happy to see Heartland Queens defeat Adamawa Queens and I will be happy too, to score against them but no celebrations,” said the pin size dynamite.

Duru is however cocksure that the Owerri side will maintain her leadership position on the eight-team group’s log.

“Yes, we can stay atop of the log because we are truly working very hard on it. Yes, we can maintain the leadership position with the present team spirit no team can challenge us for the spot. I believe at the end of the season we will stay put at the top and that’s our target to finish at the top of the log,” said Duru who plays as an attacking and defensive midfielder.

Heartland Queens are atop of the eight-team Group A log on 11 points same as challengers, Nasarawa Amazons and Confluence Queens on superior goals and will end the first term as leaders with good result at Adamawa Queens.
