NPFL 24 R28: Doma Utd Boost Survival Hopes, Enyimba Pummel Pillars As Heartland Sink Down In Relegation Zone

Doma Utd picked a hard fought 1-0 victory against Akwa United in Uyo to boost their NPFL survival hopes as Enyimba pummel Kano Pillars in Aba with Heartland suffering another loss to further sink down in the relegation zone.

Sporting Lagos played out a thrilling 1-1 draw with Lobi Stars in Lagos with Rangers taking a home win against Sunshine Stars to go top of the log.

Abia Warriors recorded a 1-0 victory against visitors Plateau United, Shooting Stars gun down Kwara United and Niger Tornadoes won big against their host, Bendel Insurance in Edo.

Yesterday, Remo Stars who are pushing hard for a first ever NPFL title crown missed the chance to close the gap with league leaders after playing out a goalless draw with Gombe United.

Enugu Rangers currently lead the log with 48 points albeit with a game in hand, closely followed by defending champions Enyimba on 48 points in 28 games, Lobi Stars 47 points in 27 games and Remo Stars 46 points in 27 games.

Round 29 will see Plateau United host Doma United, Remo Stars at Ikenne against Akwa United, Sunshine Stars hosting Bayelsa United, Lobi Stars will welcome Enyimba, Kwara against Bendel Insurance, Sporting Lagos will travel to bottom placed Heartland.

Enugu Rangers will be hoping to hold on to their position on the log when they travel to Katsina United, Kano Pillars will then seek redemption against Shooting Stars and Niger Tornadoes will host Gombe.
