Benin City Youth League: Tournament Soars with Edo Swan Partnership

Ahead of the start of the 4th Edition of the prestigious Benin City Youth league for youth teams across Edo state, the organizers of the tournament Association of Club owners has partnered with sports writers in Edo state for a proper coverage of the grassroots league this season.

Speaking with Sports journalists in the state at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium Benin City, League secretary Ken Ugbodaga said they decided to partner with Edo Swan to give the league the desired coverage that the league deserve.

Benin City Youth league secretary words to Edo Swan:

“No doubt the Benin City Youth league has come to stay and we are happy that the aim of the league is gradually been achieved, just after three seasons some gifted players have been identified and signed by teams from within and outside Nigeria”, Ugbodaga stated.

“This time we need the sports writers to fully be with us and help us promote the league as well, we need them to be part of us. The league will be up there if given the right publicity and we strongly believe in Edo Swan to key in and in our little way we will appreciate them”, Ugbodaga posited.

The 4th Edition of the Benin City Youth league will commence June 26th 2024 at the famous school of health technology sports ground, Dumez Road, Benin City, with fourteen teams participating.

The opening fixture will see defending champions Dinamo Academica take on Delight FC by 9am, while BJ Foundation will square up against Eminence FcC by 11am, Rolly FC will do battle against Spotlight FC by 1pm with the last match of the day between Royal Force and Ine Stars FC slated for 3pm.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Benin City Youth league, who is also the Oredo Local Government Area FA boss, Dauglas Idahosa has tasked the participating teams in the 4th Edition of the league to play by the rules of the game and be disciplined all times to avoid been punished by the League body. He promised the organizing committee will do it’s best to oversee the tournament successfully.
