Rugby is set to make it’s grand entry at the ongoing 2023 African Games in Accra, Ghana with a host of top African teams on the continent set to go toe to toe in the Rugby 7s event with Nigeria Women Rugby team gearing up for the opener against host Ghana Women tomorrow.
Nine countries will be seeking glory in the Rugby 7s competition over the next three days which has started with Kenya up against Benin, Uganda vs Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe vs Tunisia (men category) at the University of Ghana rugby stadium.
Ghana will square up against Benin, Zimbabwe vs Burkina Faso and Uganda vs Tunisia will be in action next after the first fixtures break, all in the men’s category.
Day 2 will see Ghana women battle Nigeria W who is also known as Green Falcons, Uganda vs Tunisia.
The men’s event will then resume after the women’s game with Kenya vs Zimbabwe, Uganda vs Benin and Burkina Faso up against host Ghana to close out the Day 2 fixtures.
Following return from break later in the evening, Uganda will face off with Ghana while Madagascar will come up against Nigeria to finish day two event.
