Ladan Bosso, the head coach of Flying Eagles has said that the team is ready and in maximum preparedness to overturn their unpleasant performance against Uganda where they lost 1-2 in their opening group B game of the African Games.
Ahead of the second game against South Sudan who also lost its opening game against Senegal, the U-20 tactician has assured that the team will be at their best to get a good result and put themselves back in line for qualification out of the group.
Ladan Bosso made this known while speaking to SpeedysportsNG Olaleye Oluwadamilola shortly after the team’s training session.
“It’s well with us but it’s just so unfortunate that we lost our first game because it wasn’t what we planned for. We had wanted to win the first match so we could play the second match with ease”, he stated.
“We are set for the next match at least to put some laughter on Nigerian faces and we will try our best to see how we can get the second match and the third so as to qualify without any issues”.
On if there’s injury situation within the camp, the coach admitted that one of the players has been sidelined and won’t be available for selection on Monday,
“We have one injured person but notwithstanding, we are here with about 20 players and we can use one out of the three goalkeepers on the field because that’s the orientation we give them”.
“If there’s no option, what do we do? However, for each of the positions, we can always improvise as cover ups”, the light hearted coach said.
A total of nine (9) teams in the Men’s division and eight (8) from the women’s are currently competing in the 13th edition of the multi-sport continental event in Ghana.
