2023/24 NWFL: Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji Euphoria Over Kick-off Honor, Extols Nkechi Obi Led Board

Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, the first lady of Ekiti State had revealed her excitement over the 2023/24 NWFL kick off honor in front of a host of top dignitaries as she extolled Nkechi Obi led board massive reformations.

The league curtain raiser game between defending champions Delta Queens and debutant Ekiti Queens met with fans expectations as both side played out a goalless draw in front of a massive home crowd with the NFF president Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, NWFL chief Mrs Nkechi Obi and other top dignitaries all in attendance.

“I had the honour of performing the official kick-off of the 2023/2024 season of the NWFL before the season’s opening match between Ekiti Queens Football Club and Delta Queens Football Club at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti”, the first lady wrote on her X handle.

“I joined thousands of other football fans at the stadium to motivate Ekiti Queens, who were playing their first match in the elite female football league to which they gained promotion last season. I commended them for their impressive performance in the match, which ended 0-0”.

“I’m glad that hosting the season opener of the NWFL put Ekiti on national and global consciousness”.

“It was an honor to take the kickoff in the presence of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau; NWFL Board Chairperson, Ms. Nkechi Obi; top government officials, sports administrators, and other stakeholders”, her post ended.

Games have resumed today with Naija Ratels up against Nasarawa Amazons, Remo Stars Ladies to host Rivers Angels in Ikenne later today.
