NPFL: Monday Odigie Fumes At Insurance’s Stalemate Against Enyimba

Monday Odigie

Enyimba travelled to the city of Benin on Saturday and held Bendel Insurance to a goalless draw at the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium much to the displeasure of Monday Odigie.

The NPFL week 21 encounter saw the People’s Elephants pick a valuable point away from home in their quest to defend the title they won last season.

The home side failed to break the visitors’ backline in a keenly contested affair and coach of Benin Arsenal as the home side are fondly called was not entertained by the level of officiating and the outcome of the match.

Asked what his assessment of the match was, the tough talking Monday Odigie responded by saying, “You watch the match, you assess it.”

The coach went on to accuse the reporter of being an Enyimba fan when asked why he felt the match wasn’t a big one.

“You answer that question you watched the game you are a journalist , young man I think you are Enyimba Supporter.”

Lastly, he refused to comment directly on the officiating that saw his side drop further points.

“Don’t ask me the question you answer it the game has come and gone.” Revealed 54 Football in a post match interview.

Enyimba sit third on the log on 36 points while Insurance are further back on eighth with 31 total points.
