Suavis Iratunga of Burundi has been named by the Confederation of African Football as the match’s referee of the clash between Nigeria’s U17 girls, Flamingos and Burkina Faso of the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying first leg fixture.
Her countrymen Fides Bangurambona, Alida Iradukunda, and Joselyne Nsabimana will serve as assistant 1, assistant 2, and fourth official, respectively. The game will take place at the March 26 Stadium. Aya Irene Ahoua of Cote d’Ivoire will serve as the referee assessor, and Oumou Souleyman Kane of Mauritania will serve as commissioner.
Aline Umutoni of Rwanda will serve as the referee for the return leg in Abuja. Alice Umutesi and Sandrine Usenga, two of her countrymen, will serve as assistants 1 and 2, respectively. Senegalese Fatou Gaye will serve as referee assessor, and Ethiopian Raya Sisay will serve as the fourth official, after Naa Odofoley Nortey as commissioner.
On Wednesday, the 8th, the Flamingos mission to Bamako will leave Abuja.
Flamingos will have the advantage of playing their away game against their Burkinabe opponents on neutral ground because the Burkinabes’ home venue isn’t up to par, according to the world governing body.
