NPFL: Sikiru Alimi Condemns “Physical Harassment” From 3SC Fans

Remo Stars went to Ibadan on Sunday for a South-Western derby encounter against 3SC where the Ikenne based side lost by two goals.

The home side had ever beaten their South West neighbours in a competitive encounter but Christian Pyagbara’s brace ensured that jinx was broken.

However, the beautiful game of football was marred by violent attacks on former Shooting player Sikiru Alimi who revealed the Ibadan fans harassed him physically after the game.

The 27 year old took to his X handle to communicate his horrible experience with the Ibadan crowd.

“I have been a professional footballer for 10years and thank GOD I have also gone and played in different countries and derbies,I know the bants and boos are also part of the game, but tonight I was “physically harrased.” Alimi wrote on X.

The Oluyole fans were heard chanting “Sikiru Ole” in their local dialect which translates to “Sikiru the thief.”

Despite that, the player was seen leaving the pitch with a smile at the conclusion of the game to the joy of a section close to the tunnel.

Alimi according to a published report is the highest earning player in the NPFL with a monthly take home of #1.3m.
