WSL – Chelsea FC Women Clash Against Liverpool FC Women Set Barclays Most Viewed Game Of All Time Record

Chelsea Football Club Women big win against Liverpool FC Women has now set the record of the most viewed BarclaysWSL game of all time with 1.1 million people watching on BBC One this weekend.

A first Blues hat-trick from Lauren James led the way as Chelsea Women comfortably saw off Liverpool with a 5-1 WSL victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

According to BBC, an average of 796,000 viewers watched Emma Hayes’ side win 5-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturda with a peak audience of 955,000 and there were a further 141,000 requests to watch the match on BBC iPlayer.

The previous record average TV audience for a WSL match was Arsenal’s win over Aston Villa in October which had 766,000 tuning in, also on the BBC.

The London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea will also be live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app on Sunday, 10 December.
