Sanni Aishat’s Late Strike Rescues Dreamstar Ladies In Feisty Kwara Ladies Clash

Arguably up as contender for goal of the tournament, Kemi Attah’s first half belter for Kwara Ladies was cancelled out by a late Sanni Aishat’s strike to recue a point for Dreamstar Ladies on matchday two of the 2024/25 NWFL Championship at Calabar.

Rasheed Ayinla’s side who fell to a frustrating 4-2 loss to Honey Badgers yesterday in their opening game at the U.J Eusene Stadium were able to get a point in the game after seeing host of goalscoring chances wasted.

Kwara Ladies Kemi Attah took a belter of a strike at the right hand side of the post beyond the reach of Dreamstar Ladies goalkeeper who had no chance whatsoever to save the shot from going in to give her side the lead heading into half time.

With two minute additional time, the game went on break after half time with Kwara Ladies ahead.

The game was full of intensity upon second half resumption as Dreamstar Ladies pressed the opponent for a goal which will undoubtedly bring them back into the encounter.

Kemi Attah tested the goalkeeper in the 49th minute but Akindele Juliana pulled up a magnificent double save to prevent Kemi from getting her second of the game.

The break-through moment came when Sanni Aishat latched on to a lovely pass, drove inside the box and unleased a left footed strike into the net, rescuing a point for her team.

Four minutes additional time wasn’t enough to get a winning goal as both sides shared the spoils.
