Rangers International of Enugu are close to agreeing a deal with an existing female side for the creation of the club’s female team.
Speaking at a press briefing, the CEO, Amobi Ezeaku revealed the club are in talks with an already existing female football club in view to transferring ownership.
This is to meet up with CAF regulations regarding participation in continental competitions which requires every team to have their own official female team.
Rangers International are top of the Nigerian Professional Football League and are well placed to secure one of the slots for a continental place come the end of the season.
“We’re talking seriously with an already existing female team so that if we’re to be on the continent, we’ll not be found wanting in respect to the CAF Inter-club competitions”, said the CEO of the club.
“ if the discussion goes through and God wills we’re on the continent, we may not be found wanting when it comes to that”, he added.
“We’re being proactive in that light to ensure that everything respecting the rules is kept intact”, he concluded.
Rangers are currently top of the log and are looking at winning their first title since 2016.
