Highly rated Nigerian athlete, Favour Ofili who has undoubtedly gone past her 100m brutal omission due to the negligence from the Athletics Federation of Nigeria and the Nigerian Olympic Committee has called for calm following her sixth placed finish in the 200m final at the ongoing Olympic games in Paris.
The LSU sprint star who was in tears after loosing out on a medal finish has now set her sights on the 4×100 meters relay event as she looks to continue her search for a glorious podium finish.

Gabby Thomas who was the eventual winner upgraded her Tokyo bronze to gold in Paris, winning the 2024 Olympic title in 21.83 (-0.6m/s) in a race that went largely to the form book.
Sharing on her X handle following her loss, Favour Ofili wrote; “Gods will not mine. It’s been a hard one coming. Tried to be mentally ready regardless of the shocking news I took few days back. I gave it my all from lane 9”.
“If it was easy, everyone will be doing it. Thank you coach shaver, having you around made everything a lot easy for me. 200m finalist, Finished 6th overall, Next 4×100(On God)”, her post read.
Clocking a time of 22.24 seconds, Ofili’s participation in the final marks a significant milestone as she is the first Nigerian athlete to compete in the event’s final since Mary Onyali in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Gazing ahead of the event before her, Favour Ofili who remains a beacon of hope of a medal push for her country is looking to give this her strong push as the dream for a top podium applause still remains in sight.
Meanwhile, Tobi Amusan has qualified for the 100m hurdles semi final.
