Sabo Okala, head coach of Confluence Queens bemoaned his team abysmal performance following a humiliating loss against Edo Queens in the NWFL Super 6 matchday 1 at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenogoa, Bayelsa.
It was a goal harvest tie, the highest goal scoring encounter in matchday 1, Edo Queens were already three goals up as opposed to Confluence’s lone strike going into halftime.
Play resumed with a dominant Edo Queens getting two more games and Osigwe completed an hatrick, highest goal scorer going into matchday 2.
“We didn’t measure up in one department and it was so obvious which is my goalkeeper, that’s football for us, we just have to go back to the drawing board and see how we can make corrections. Aside the goalkeeping department, there were lapses in our defense line and with some pep talk, we hope to be able to come out top in the next match”, he said after the game in a pre-match interview.
On their chances of winning the title: “We can never be down cause I’m a psychologist, and one thing with psyching people who are down is for you to try as much as possible to motivate them and never allow them to be down. We have to be up and ready for the next match. we are coming out good and hopefully we can come out with the victory”.
“We are 150 percent in the title race”, a bullish Okala maintained.
Confluence Queens will be seeking redemption against Heartland Queens as they look to put themselves in contention for the NWFL Super 6 crown.
