Super Eagles coach Finidi George has played down the essence of team setup as he reckons “formation is not that important.”
The former Ajax Amsterdam player led Enyimba to rhr NPFL title last season and served as assistant coach under immediate past manager Jose Peseiro.
The newly appointed gaffer was speaking to Brila FM and he discussed his views as a coach and what he requires from his players.
“My philosophy is to win.” He said during the live show on Nigeria’s foremost sports radio Brila FM.
“Formation is not all that important. If players are able to interpret between when to attack and to defend, there will not be problems.” He added.
The former right winger is working ahead of his official bow as coach of the Nigeria national football team which is an important clash against South Africa next month.
Having drawn the first two games, the Super Eagles welcome South Africa to Abuja on June 7 with Finidi George as the permanent coach of the side for the first time.
