“Yes, the spirit in the camp is quite impressive, because the last couple of days the lads have been putting a lot of efforts in training. We have come to realize that the current situation is not suitable for the team,” he told Abia Comets FC Media.

“So, everybody is now on the right path to make sure that we get ourselves out of this situation.”

The Right-Back, who can also play as a centre midfielder explained that the clash against Edel FC is an important game for the team moving forward after the 3-0 loss to Madiba FC last Friday in Lagos.

“Yes, I think with the way we conceded those three goals in both away games in less than 20 minute is not a good one, it is not a matter of fitness but I think it is just mindset and focus level of the team, “Akpan said.

“However, I think that we have been put in check by the technical team to get ourselves ready and prepared for the next games.”

“If you watched our training session today, the players made sure that we didn’t concede early goals and our defence has been tight and solid in the last couple of session.”

“We’re going to Edel not to play according to their weakness but to our strength and I believe that we are going to get a positive result.”

“AI promise all the Abia Comets supporters that we are going to give our all to make sure that we come back with the maximum three points on Sunday,” he concluded.
