Chairman Bayelsa Queens football club Robin Apreala has said that their 2023 BOWFT victory against defending NWFL Champions Delta Queens is crucial to the team’s aspiration this season, despite the fact that it’s a pre-season tournament.
The Prosperity Girls secured a 5-4 victory via penalties over their neighbours at the University of Benin Sports Stadium on Monday in a keenly contested game that ended goalless after ninety minute.
Robin Apreala said the win was crucial in the pursuit of their set goals in the forthcoming Nigeria Women Football League season.

“This win means a lot towards achieving our set targets for the new season,” he told the club’s media.
Technical Adviser Bayelsa Queens Domo Okara, said the game was a difficult one and that he gave kudos to his girls as he was impressed that his players stuck to the game plan.
Okara said it is a big win for them which has boosted the morale of his team going into the final with Edo Queens on Wednesday 1st of November, 2023 at the Betsey Obaseki Women Football Tournament and added that they are going to work on the lapses noticed in their semi-final game against Delta Queens.
Earlier in the group stage, Edo Queens defeated Remo Stars Ladies 2-1.
Remo Stars Ladies defeated the defending champions of the BOWFT, FC Robo Queens, 3-1 in the quarterfinal.
