2023/24 NWFL – ‘We Were Unlucky’, Wemimo Matthew Concedes After Remo Stars Ladies Nervy Draw With Rivers Angels

Head coach of 2023/24 NWFL debutant Remo Stars Ladies Wemimo Matthew has conceded that her side were unlucky during their opening campaign game against Rivers Angels yesterday.

The newly promoted Ikenne based outfit played out a thrilling 1-1 draw with visitors Rivers Angels despite having a host of chances which was begging to be converted as they were able to manage just an equalizer to pick a point in the nervy encounter.

“It was a good game and I believed the girls really tried their best just that luck was not fully on our side and this is thier first time playing in the top flight and yet, they were able to put up all these good performances”, she stated in her post match interview.

“My girls lost concentration as we had the chance to score close to three to four goals but first time playing and we have highlighted some of the mistakes. We will work on them to convert our chances,” Wemimo assured ahead of their away trip.
